Make your blog time well spent

Many people perceive computer time as an indulgence just another vice that they need to curb and only do in their spare time. Your readers must reap a reward for visiting your blog. This means two things.

First, your blog posts should not read like sales pitches. Yes, your end goal is to sell, but your blog must not be just another ad. Your blog is a way to secure your place as an authority in your industry and build a relationship with your online clientele.

Second, a great way to attract people to your blog and keep them coming back is to teach them something that is useful something that shows them that you know your stuff and that you care about them enough to offer them advice. For free.

Of course, you don’t want to give away the company secrets– like the Big Mac’s secret sauce– but, surely there are some helpful tips that you can afford to share.

Exercise hospitality

Allowing guest bloggers is a great way to take some of the workload off your staff and showcase a variety of writing styles. It also lends greater authority to your blog– particularly if you can attract quality bloggers who possess a certain level of expertise.

Be selective, however, when it comes to accepting posts. You need to ensure that guest posts are factually correct, well written, and appropriate for your audience.

Become a “regular”

When creating a blog, it is important to realize that it will be a long-time commitment and require frequent posts. The internet is filled with orphaned blogs—and you do not want any blog affiliated with your business to become dormant.

Ensure that your blog boasts at least one fresh post each week—two is even better. Your followers will lose interest if your new offerings are sparse.

Show off your literacy skills

This is a business blog and, as such, it needs to possess a high level of professionalism. This means that each post must be top caliber. Ensure that you have used proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Low quality composition will turn off readers—and potential clients.

Be “share-worthy”

One of the best ways to keep ‘em coming back for more is to consistently be a source of great material. If something makes you laugh out loud, brush a tear from your cheek, or utter a resounding “aw”, odds are it will elicit the same response from your readers. And they’ll be much more likely to return later.

Give them your 10 cents

One of the best ways to attract community members is to become active within the community—and the blogging community is the same. Seek out blogs that you enjoy and comment on them. Developing relationships with other bloggers will increase your audience substantially as, not only will those bloggers visit your blog, but many other their own followers will too.

Become a Title master

Blog posts that possess a clever title are more likely to attract readers. Become a master title writer. If you find it tricky, recruit a staff member to come up with catchy headlines on your behalf. Have fun with it.

A well-written, informational, and entertaining blog can serve as a marvellous spokesperson for your business. And, unlike its human counterparts, it works around the clock. Plus, you can have a blog for free. And free is good. By following these easy tips, you can turn your hardworking blog into the top-performing member of your sales team.
